Sunshine

Just wanted to give everyone a brief update on Mom this evening - she is now done with one out of the four days of chemotherapy. Her spirits are up, and in her cute, yellow shirt, she obtained the nickname Sunshine this morning. As you can all probably imagine, the nursing staff has much enjoyed Mom and Dad's company, and we all know that often translates into extra good care for the patient. Mom's room is actually located within the transplant unit so we all have to follow a lot of rules to maintain the cleanliness of her room (eg, no more than two visitors at a time, wash your hands before entry and unfortunately no flowers...but seriously, who needs flowers when there is so much sunshine). :-)

Anyway, we will do our best to keep you updated of her daily progress while in the hospital. Please continue to pray for her physical and emotional strength as she endures these harsh medications - although they often work miracles, it never comes without some cost. We are blessed to have such terrific prayer warriors as friends. Mom is a very lucky lady!

In His love,
Erin

Sunshine...very appropriate nickname for one of God's own "beacons of light" in this world. Praying for you, and hoping to see your smiling face one day soon. Be a good patient!

    Love,
    Betsy

What a great nickname! Sunshine--your wonderful personality always comes through even in the most adverse of situations. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers out here in Brownwood. I sure wish we lived closer so that I could see you ever so often. Take care of yourself and don't over do it!
    Love-
Shawn and the rest of the Carruth gang

Sunshine Yellow is my favorite color. I just want to know what NUMBER that is? I can only imagine what that nursing staff is enjoying with both your mom and dad in the room. With their senses of humor and dispositions they are role models for us all. Funny how you think that you are going to cheer someone or offer them words of encouragement and they do that for you. That's Paula and John. Again, know that we love you all. Keep the faith.
