Transplant Lite

Today we had a two-hour family consultation with Dr. Bhushan to review transplant choices for this summer. It turns out that Aunt Jean was not a match for Mom so the riskier Allo transplant is not a viable option at this time. Instead, the Auto procedure (nicknamed "Transplant Lite" because of it's low risk of complications) looks like our best choice.

We should have known ... Mom is a wannabe blonde and Jean is a natural blonde. The match game answer was as plain as the hair on their heads. :-)

We left the office with the plan to think about our summer schedule over the weekend and call Dr. Bhushan's office back on Monday to begin making appointments. We expect to begin with two rounds of inpatient chemotherapy here in Dallas. And over the course of the next week, we will also be collecting additional transplant opinions from Dr. Bhushan's colleagues to solidify our decision.

Tonight was dinner at Pappadeaux which included 1 Pappadeaux's Platter and a few rounds of dirty rice. Excellent choice Chad! :-)

Thank you so much for your prayers for Mom. We are looking forward to seeing more great results this summer.

Cheers
Mica

Children tell everything and send word to the rest. At least it was an excellent choice for dinner. May the Lord give you the wisdom you need at this time.

Dear Paula, I've been thinking about what you told me Wednesday evening about all our prayers and God's will in the transplant options. I'm glad you feel His will and peace about the transplant.
If you need some lawn mowing or watering assistance this summer, please, please, please call us. We may not be able to make it look as smooth as you and John do, but we want to help if you need it. You know the prayers are shooting up all the time and will continue.
    Love, Mary Gail

    Hi Paula,
I am glad you guys got to experience comfort food Cajon style! Pappadeaux is our family's first stop after our appointment with the eye doctor.

I have been thinking about you guys all weekend. I have been praying for God to give your doctors the wisdom they need to help you make the best decision on your transplant options. I continue to gain strength from your positive attitude and outlook. It is such an honor to be your friend and neighbor!

John - Thanks so much for your help with the lawn mower. I am looking for ward to lots of peppers in the Wilhite/Elledge garden this summer. I am also here if there is anything I can help with around the house.

    You guys are the best!
    Chad
