Changes

Mom had another appointment yesterday with some more good results. We found out there were two measures of her protein count that were cut in half since last month which is a continued indication that her outpatient chemotherapy is successfully fighting the myeloma in her body. We like these kind of changes! :-)

However, the appointment also presented an unanticipated change for Mom. Unfortunately, her heart rate has not rebounded enough to satisfy Dr. Bhushan. So a different treatment option was recommended that would exchange her daily pills for a twice weekly IV treatment. If we settle on this option, Mom will begin coming to Dallas on Tuesdays and Fridays to transition to this new treatment - certainly a change of pace for both her and Dad.

Then today, through our "inside sources" within the Dallas medical community, we learned that Dr. Bhushan plans to move from UT Southwestern to Baylor (where Erin works). We are currently in the process of learning what this means for Mom's overall treatment plan. Will she move to Baylor or will she have a new doctor at UT? We anticipate both changes and choices either way.

Last night, we went to see cousin Steven Trout (#16) play baseball in Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs lost to the Sooners by just a little bit, but it was still fun to watch Steven play while munching on Pot Belly sandwiches. Yum! :-)

Cheers
Mica

Since yesterday was primary election day, just thought I would let you know that we missed our future president at Houston. Get strong, because of your efforts we have grown to a strong afflilate of AMATYC. May the Lord help you to choose the right choice in whether to follow the doctor or try another. He seems to done well with you. You are constantly in my thoughts.
May the Lord bless you with the wisdom that you and your family needs at this time.

    Dear Paula,

What a tough choice to make! The doc has guided your treatment so well!

I'm glad you are still making those delightful food choices...Pot Belly sandwiches, ummmh!

Take care and I know the Lord will help you make the best decision about your doc and hospital!

    Love Arleen

I've never had a Pot Belly sandwich, but they sure sound interesting and yummy! I know that whatever is determined to be the best option is what Paula will choose. So you will be running the roads much more frequently between your lovely home and my hometown - be safe, and know that my thoughts and prayers are always with you.
    Love,
    Betsy

Paula, I've tried three times at work and once at home to reply to your email, but it can't be delivered. Isn't that something, that you couldn't get it to me and now I can't get it to you?
    Love, Mary Gail
