Happy New Year!
The week between Christmas and New Year's is notoriously slow, so maybe we shouldn't have been surprised to experience some delays in our plans to initiate Mom's therapy. :-)
Because of changes in Mom's medication that had been made the previous week, she began experiencing some notable discomfort about mid-week. At that time, they told us our next appointment would not be until Wednesday, Jan 4 - a whole week away. However, after another call Thursday, they decided to begin a 3-month outpatient treatment plan on Saturday, December 31.
Mom still has an appointment to see Dr. Bhushan next Wednesday at 12:15 PM to hear more results of her tests. Fortunately, this leaves plenty of time to prepare for the 7:00 PM kick-off between USC and UT. :-)
We are glad that Mom's status has improved. My theory for the slow week is that she always shows up looking too happy. I always tell her, "Mom, if you don't start looking sick, they want make us a priority!"
We hope you have a safe and fun New Year's holiday. We send our best wishes to you and your family for health and prosperity in 2006. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers and well wishes!
Cheers
Mica

Paula and John,
Happy New Year! I want you both to know that you are in my prayers each day. I know John well enough to know that this waiting game is not his cup of tea. I am praying for patience for him and for you Paula, I am praying for comfort, peace and patience with John. I know you both will feel better when things begin to move a little faster.
I do hope you had a good Christmas. Just having family together makes it good, doesn't it?
Brandon was here only three days, Mary Katherine and Zachary were with us about 7 days and it was wonderful. Just wait until you have grandchildren-- what a joy. That Zac is the happiest little guy. He loves being in Texas with his Paw Paw but he lives in Ark-saw (his pronunciation). I am afraid he is going to be a real Razorback!!!
Paula, I will continue to pray each day for you and your family.
Love, Jana Milam

I just wanted to wish a Happy New Year to you and all the Wilhites...Paula, you really need to show up to those appointments in a flannel robe and bunny slippers. But then again you'd probably look healthy and elegant anyway!! :) I'm glad to hear that the drs are on the ball!!
Take care, Carrie

Hi, Paula -
Can't wait to hear how your visit with the Dr. went. I wanted to share a funny with you - my son's principal declared that whichever class has the most students wearing orange in UT's support today gets a full day of recess. Needless to say, Grant is wearing orange, even though his sister, Claire, bleeds maroon. I can not imagine anything more monotonous than a full day of recess...give me a good Calculus problem anyday! Of course, to a 9-year-old, recess is a MUCH better treat. :-)
Hugs,
Betsy
